Panathenaic Stadium

Originally built in the 4th Century BC, this stadium holds over 70,000 spectators. It was restored in 1895 and the site of the 2004 Olympics. This was the finish line of the Athens Marathon. The WHOLE thing is made of marble!

Poros

Poros was our first stop of a 3 island cruise. We started from athen and went to Poros, Hydra and Aegina.

Hydra

Hydra is an island that does not allow motorized vehicles. Donkey's were used to get around.

Hania- Ifegenia Studios

The building on the right was our hotel in Hania. Nice quiet location.

Hania- Waterfront

Hania was our favorite town on Crete. The Venetian Quarter is a well preserved section of town...like a time warp. These buildings all have nice cafes overlooking the harbour.

Rethymno- Harbour Front

Rethymno

We stayed in Rethymno for two nights in a beautiful little hotel called Hotel Veneto. Our room had two stories over looking the old quarter.
This picture is from the massive Venetian Fortress over looking the town. It dates back to the 16th century.
